The lost superfoods

The Lost Superfoods is a book about clever ways of making food that is nutritious and last for for a long time. Telling stories on how people made food before fridges and supermarkets. Many have been used in a crisis an refers to historic events. The historic part is quite interesting and makes for good reading. It contains 126 different recipes. Many are easy to make using simple ingredients, while some requires more patience. Also the book explains ways of making foods last longer. Eggs can be stored to last for 10 years apparently. The book contains pictures and instructions that should be easy for anyone to understand. There is an emphasis how good this knowledge would bee if there is a crisis. I don’t think there will be a food crisis anytime soon. (I certainly hope not.) You will also learn how to take plants and weed from the nearest green area and make food from it.

All in all I believe this book appeals mot to those who are 60 years or older. It tells a good bit of history seen from a different angle. A history book and cook book in one. This way of making food was a lot more common before. Fridges are a modern invention. People had to get creative making do with what they had.

  • Very Interesting historic read.
  • Quite useful, and quite different.
